Engineering and Purdue Opportunities

  • Effective Teaching Workshop: Get tips on planning a course, lecturing effectively, encouraging student involvement in class, addressing student problems and more in this comprehensive workshop by Richard M. Felder, Hoechst Celanese Professor Emeritus, of North Carolina State University and Rebecca Brent, Ph.D., President, Education Designs, Inc.
  • Faculty Mentoring: Mentoring is an on-going process at Purdue. It begins when you join the College of Engineering and continues until you reach full professor status and beyond.
  • Leadership Workshop For Engineering and Science Faculty: This workshop is held annually on campus and assists faculty in managing the human elements of leadership with the goal of cultivating personal and organizational leadership skills.
  • Securing Industry Funding: “How to Become a Rainmaker” is a session where successful colleagues will share their strategies for developing industry partnerships. Participants will also gain an understanding of university models for industrial grants, contracts and IP agreements.
  • Teaming Science Workshop: NIH and NSF are increasingly paying attention to teaming science for large center proposals. Michelle Bennett, a leading expert in team science, conducts an on campus workshop on developing strategies for success in collaboration and team science for multi-investigator teams and centers.
