Xiaojie Liu completed a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University. She works with co-advisors Dr. Xiulin Ruan, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Jianguo Mei, Richard and Judith Wien Associate Professor of Chemistry, and Dr. Tian Li, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering. The goal of this project is to enable cooling paints that are durable under realistic weather conditions and switchable between cooling/heating for all seasons’ benefits, and to explore cellulose-based materials and applications for cooling and AWH. Dr. Liu’s field of research includes experimental and theoretical investigations of thermal transport in solar-driven interfacial evaporation and passive radiative cooling.
