Dear PhD Students,

Fall 2025 PhD qualifying exams for major areas will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Some of you may have asked about a tentative date which was not the same as above, so please take note of the potential change.   

If you plan to take, or must re-take, a major area qualifying exams this spring then you must register for them via the attached registration form. The form is due back to me by May 30, 2025. You may simply copy your advisor on the return email for approval rather than collecting his/her signature on the form.

PhD students that received their MS from Purdue AAE have 2 semesters to take qualifying exams, and PhD students that received their MS elsewhere have 3 semesters to take qualifying exams. 

I will send an email reminder to you before the exams which will include exact meeting times and location information. If you don’t already have access to the old exams I will grant you access after I receive your registration form.
