The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics offers one of the country’s top aerospace engineering graduate programs, according to the U.S. News & World Report.
AAE was ranked No. 6 in the 2022 “Best Graduate Schools” rankings, released Tuesday. Since 1998, AAE has been ranked among the nation’s top 6 graduate programs in the aerospace/aeronautical/astronautical engineering category by USNWR.
The rankings from the news site are released annually. The “specialty rankings” in engineering disciplines are based “solely on peer assessments by department heads in each specialty area,” the USNWR website said. U.S. News conducted peer assessment surveys, and department heads rated other schools that offered a doctoral degree in their specialty on a five-point scale. Schools with the highest average scores appear in the rankings.
The Gambaro Graduate Program of Aeronautics and Astronautics offers master’s (thesis program, non-thesis program, distance learning and professional master’s) and Ph.D. programs. Research areas include aerodynamics, aerospace systems, astrodynamics and space applications, autonomy and control, propulsion, and structures and materials.
The College of Engineering at Purdue was ranked No. 4 for 2022.
