The College of Agriculture PK-12 Council's Outreach and Engagement Awards were established to recognize, reward, and celebrate faculty and staff involved in successful outreach and engagement activities and to encourage the improvement and expansion of those activities.

Dr. Carroll will begin her term at the 2018 UCOWR/NIWR Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Science on Tap provides Purdue faculty and collaborating researchers with the opportunity to share research activities in an informal setting with presentations designed to appeal to a more general audience.

Drones have become increasingly popular for people looking to retrieve professional overhead footage and a Purdue based start up is using drone technology to help out farmers across the country.

“Even with a 40 percent increase in the volume of grains handled and processed since the OSHA grain-handling standard was promulgated in 1988, the number of incidents has steadily declined over the past 10 years,” Ambrose said. “Keeping the facility clean, training employees and contract workers, keeping equipment in good working condition by preventive maintenance and the use of dust explosion suppression systems and venting systems are good prevention practices.”

"We hope this will help us to advance and speed up our breeding pipelines to generate the next seeds and the next agriculture products earlier than we could before so we can generate more food to feed the whole world," Jin said.
