ECE Undergraduate Advising Office

The Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering undergraduate programs are available at both our Indianapolis and West Lafayette locations.

Indianapolis

Upon acceptance into the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Indianapolis, students are assigned a primary academic advisor for an individualized and consistent advising experience. Students are welcome to see any advisor for drop-in issues but will complete registration and discuss any significant issues during appointments with their primary advisor. Should an urgent or critical issue arise, students are encouraged to contact the ECE Undergraduate Office or stop by during office hours.

Appointments

An appointment should be made to cover issues requiring more than 10 minutes, such as: primary registration meetings, Study Abroad discussions, academic or personal concerns, plan of study changes/discussions, academic probation meetings, etc. Students who would like to make an appointment with their primary academic advisor may do so through BoilerConnect. Please note that same-day appointments are not available, and a drop-in should be used for urgent matters. Students who wish to meet with an advisor regarding scholarships, co-ops, internships, study abroad, and CODO should contact their primary academic advisor. As our International Student Support Coordinator, Dr. Yuxiang Wang also takes appointments for international students who wish to discuss issues regarding transitioning to Purdue and ECE.

West Lafayette

Should an urgent or critical issue arise, students are encouraged to contact the ECE Undergraduate Office or stop by during office hours.

Students who wish to meet with an advisor regarding scholarships, co-ops, internships, study abroad, and CODO should contact the office by calling 765-494-3390 or by coming to the ECE Undergraduate Office (MSEE 140). If a student arrives more than 5 minutes late to an appointment, he/she may be asked to reschedule. As our International Student Support Coordinator, Dr. Yuxiang Wang also takes appointments for international students who wish to discuss issues regarding transitioning to Purdue and ECE.

Drop-In Appointments

An ECE Academic Advisor will be available for in-person and virtual drop-ins during the below times A drop-in is appropriate for quick issues that will take less than 10 minutes, such as adding/dropping a course, signing up for research (eg. ECE 49600); quick general questions; getting a form signed; changing the grade mode to pass/no pass, etc. Be aware that due to unforeseen circumstances, the posted drop-in advisor may change on short notice; however, there will be an advisor available during that time. Please know that there will be times the office closes during posted normal business hours or for occasional need. To enter the virtual drop-ins via zoom, click on the link and use passcode 'DROPINS'.
