Faculty and Graduate Students Honored at College Awards Luncheon
Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering well represented at awards luncheon
The Purdue College of Engineering recently hosted its 2025 Award Luncheon, celebrating the achievements of its faculty and students. Young-Jun Son, James J. Solberg Head and Ransburg Professor, announced the awards for the Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering.

Zhengtong Xu was honored with the Magoon Research Excellence Award for his significant contributions to research. Vishnu Shankar Pookat received the Outstanding Service Award in recognition of his exceptional service to the school.
The Magoon for Excellence in Teaching Awards were bestowed upon Evv Boerwinkle and Jose Alfredo Ocegueda-Barraza, acknowledging their commitment to teaching and student success.
The College of Engineering also recognized two Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering professors with faculty mentorship awards. Assistant Professor Reem Khir, who was absent, and Thomas and Jane Schmidt Rising Star Associate Professor Hua Cai. Cai, who has a joint appointment with the Environmental and Ecological Engineering (EEE) department, was awarded for her outstanding mentorship of an EEE student.
