StrmMusic Taps Geoff Cubitt to Lead North America Amid Global Expansion
StrmMusic, a Brazilian-born "Music Career Accelerator," has appointed Geoff Cubitt as CEO of StrmMusic North America and announced plans to open its U.S. headquarters in Chicago's 2112 Creative Industries hub. The company leverages data, AI, financial support, distribution, and label services to help artists grow and sustain their careers.
Cubitt, a 1992 graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, brings a rich background in digital transformation and executive leadership, having worked with global brands such as HBO, Adidas, JP Morgan Chase, and the U.S. Air Force. A recognized leader in his field, he has been named a Purdue Outstanding Industrial Engineer, inducted into the Purdue Co-Op Hall of Fame, and currently serves on Purdue's Industrial Engineering Advisory Council. In choosing Chicago as the company's North American base, Cubitt pointed to the city’s central location between major music industry hubs—Los Angeles, New York, and Nashville—and praised the dynamic startup and tech culture surrounding the 2112 incubator.
“Geoff’s track record in digital innovation and strategic growth makes him the ideal leader to drive our expansion in North America,” says Fernando Gabriel, Global CEO of StrmMusic. “His expertise will be paramount in scaling our platform and amplifying our impact on artists in the region.”

The announcement marks a major step forward for StrmMusic’s expansion strategy in the United States and Canada. In a recent post on LinkedIn, Cubitt noted the enthusiasm of the kickoff event at 2112, where the team introduced its mission to local stakeholders and creatives.
Supporting this momentum at the highest level is Jim Tompkins, a highly respected figure in both business and academia, who serves as Chairman of StrmMusic’s Board. Also an alumnus of the Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering (BSIE ’69, MSIE ’70, PhD ’72), Tompkins is widely recognized as a visionary in supply chain strategy and digital commerce. He is the founder and chairman of Tompkins Ventures and has led dozens of growth-stage companies through complex transformations.
Tompkins’s connection to Purdue runs deep, with decades of service on advisory councils for both the College of Engineering and the School of Industrial Engineering. He has also endowed professorships, student scholarships, and innovation spaces on campus, reflecting his enduring commitment to shaping the next generation of engineering leaders. Tompkins has been named Outstanding Industrial Engineer (’97), was recognized as a Distinguished Engineering Alumni (’99), and will be honored this fall with the Purdue Engineering Alumni Loyalty Award.
Together, Cubitt and Tompkins represent a powerful combination of technological vision and seasoned governance. Their leadership is expected to accelerate StrmMusic’s ability to offer personalized, AI-powered services to artists while building sustainable partnerships throughout the North American music industry. With its creative and operational center now rooted in Chicago—and a leadership team deeply grounded in problem-solving, systems thinking, and optimization—StrmMusic is also showcasing how Industrial Engineering principles can transform industries well beyond factories and warehouses. Thanks to the Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering's legacy of producing leaders like Jim Tompkins and Geoff Cubitt, the business of music may soon run smarter, leaner, and more artist-focused than ever before.
