The Rear Admiral Grace Hopper Award, presented annually by the Chancellor of the College of Information and Cyberspace at the National Defense University, honors distinguished individuals who are thought leaders in advancing information and cyberspace within the national security community. 

Gibson served a 33-year military career culminating as Deputy Director of National Intelligence for National Security Partnerships. She has held numerous intelligence and cyberspace operations roles, including Director of Intelligence for U.S. Central Command and Deputy Commanding General for U.S. Army Cyber Command. Gibson became the Sergeant at Arms of the United States Senate on March 22, 2021.
