MSE Faculty Lead Cutting-Edge Advances in Next-Generation Materials

Purdue MSE’s Dr. Babak Anasori and his research team are helping to push the frontiers of 2D nanomaterials. Their recent publication on High-Entropy MXenes features in the premier journal Science. The expansive study, of ultrathin sheets comprising up to nine different atomic constituents--explores the balance between order and disorder--leading to guidelines for engineering improved materials for energy storage, electronics, and aero and space technologies. This is a giant leap in designing complex 2D materials, with implications for mechanical, electrical, and optical properties.
