Purdue Nuclear team, finalist for ANS Student Design Competition
A team composed of undergraduate students from the School of Nuclear Engineering has been announced as a finalist for the 2020 American Nuclear Society (ANS) Student Design Competition and is invited to make a presentation at the ANS 2020 Winter Meeting and Nuclear Technology Expo to be held in November 2020.
Competing against University of Tennessee, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of Sharjah, and North Carolina State University, the teams will make their presentations at the ANS Winter Meeting later this year.
The Purdue team will present on their project, Design of a Novel Decision-Making Tool for the Analysis of Shelter-in-Place During a Radiological Release.
The Purdue team includes David Champlin, Mark D’Aloia, Emily Downing, Elizabeth Jaye. Team Mentor is Todd Smith, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the faculty advisor for the team is Dr. Shripad Revankar
