NE Alumnus involved in Purdue research projects funded though U.S. Navy Partnership

Purdue School of Nuclear Engineering Alumnus Dr. Tom Adams, scientist at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division and visiting scholar in the School of Nuclear Engineering; is part of the research team comprised of Vikas Tomar, professor of aeronautics and astronautics; Vilas G. Pol, professor of chemical engineering; Corey Love, scientist at the Naval Research Laboratory. The team received an award for the second phase II of Purdue’s Naval Enterprise Partnership Teaming with Universities for National Excellence (NEPTUNE) Program.

PUR-1 staff submit license amendment request for new digital system

Purdue Reactor staff recently announced the docketing of the License Amendment Request to upgrade the Instrumentation and Controls for Purdue University Reactor One. The amendment application will undergo Acceptance Review by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission over the next 30 days.

NE undergraduate student selected for NUPOC program

School of Nuclear Engineering undergraduate student Rokas Venckus has been selected to participate in the Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate (NUPOC) program. Part of the Navy Engineering collegiate Program, NUPOC hires students and provides them with a full-time salary to finish their current degree.
