Nuclear Engineering Students Participate in the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program 2011

We are proud to announce four students participated in the Summer
Undergraduate Research Fellowship, (SURF) from the School of Nuclear AtriumEngineering.

The SURF culminated with a research symposium where participants
presented their summer research either at an oral or a poster session on
Wednesday August 3, 2011. The event was held in Armstrong Hall.

Randall Reames had one of the top 10 oral presentations and Kara Luitjohan one of the top five poster presentations.

Above is Kara Luitjohan with her poster. The title of her presentation was Deuterium Induced Surface Chemistry of Lithiated Carbon Allotropes. Kara worked with Professor J.P. Allain and Chase Tayor, a graduate research assistant.
