Two teams involving Purdue University’s Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering were among the 31 selected for these competitive grants.

Zachary Reichel is a student majoring in Computer Engineering who is currently on co-op with ZF Friedrichshafen.

An ECE student, Sihun Kim of Springfield, Virginia, has been selected as the student responder for the Friday night graduation. Kim is to receive a Bachelor of Science degree.

Roughly four dozen teams showcased projects they worked on for the last several months at the Spring 2023 Spark Challenge.

This Wednesday (April 26), Distinguished Technologist and Strategist at Hewlett Packard (HP), Dr. Mark Shaw, will join Professor Saurabh Bagchi in person in an interactive fireside chat about his career at HP and what it takes to manage and to succeed.

Electrical Engineering is ranked 8, while Computer Engineering came in at 10.

The renovation project will transform BHEE into a modern and world-class ECE facility, equipped with the latest technology and resources to enhance teaching, learning, and research, and accommodate and support Purdue ECE’s ever-increasing student enrollment and research needs.

Somosmita Mitra was chosen over incumbent opponent Alex Sato to lead the organization for the 2023-24 school year.

“If someone from the 1950s suddenly appeared, what would be the most difficult thing to explain to them about life today?” asked Mark Lundstrom, the Don and Carol Scifres Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, to more than 200 admitted Purdue students, parents and alumni in New Delhi and Mumbai, India, on April 5 and April 7.
