A team of Purdue University researchers has received a $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture to improve feed efficiency and consistency on dairy farms by using automated video analytics systems.
The second installment of the DoD’s funding enhances efforts in areas including radiation-hardened microelectronics and trusted artificial intelligence and expands student training, continuing education, and dissemination.
Fifty-five students from six counties and 12 different high schools in and around Tippecanoe County and the Greater Lafayette area completed a two-week summer program that could give them a leg up in the rising semiconductor industry.
The honor, which includes a $1.25 million grant over the next five years, is intended to address gaps in the funding landscape in the United States that limit the rate of discovery in the physical sciences.
