Two Purdue University Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering students are among the student athletes who earned academic honors during the 2024-2025 school year.

Cecilie Wiuff is a member of the Women’s Swimming and Diving team. She is majoring in electrical engineering. Wiuff was recognized as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar for achieving a grade-point average of at least 3.70. Women’s Swimming & Diving had 11 honorees, the most of any Purdue team.

Big Ten Faculty Representatives established the Distinguished Scholar award in 2008 to supplement the Academic All-Big Ten program. Distinguished Scholar recipients must have earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition in the previous academic year, must have been enrolled full time at the institution for the entire previous academic year (two semesters or three quarters) and earned a minimum GPA of 3.70 during the previous academic year, excluding any summer grades. The Academic All-Big Ten threshold is a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for a student's academic career.

Raymond Whittaker

Raymond Whittaker is a member of the Men’s Swimming and Diving team majoring in electrical engineering. Whittaker is one of 11 swimmers who earned Scholar All-American accolades from the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

The CSCAA honors student-athletes that achieved 3.5-plus grade-point averages during the spring semester/quarter, which coincides with swimming & diving’s championship season, headlined by the NCAA Championships in March. First-team honorees competed at the NCAA Championships and second-team honorees achieved an individual NCAA provisional qualifying time (B Cut) or competed at their NCAA Diving Zone Championships meet. Whittaker was a second-team honoree.
