Using machine learning to perfect nanoscale 3D printing

Additive manufacturing has changed the landscape of many fields, including nanotechnology. To 3D-print nanoscale objects, researchers often use a laser-based process called multi-photon polymerization. But it's a relatively slow process, and difficult to ensure accuracy. Purdue University researchers have developed an active machine learning framework that leads to more accurate prints more quickly, with the use of much less training data than typically used in a machine learning process.
